I am Chef Rachel, and I have found my passion in cooking by starting with the beverage pairing. Hand me a wine, and that is where my dishes come from.
How do I pair? I champion the thought that when one uses similar flavors in the wine, it detracts from the wine and changes it, sometimes completely. Rather, by using contrasting flavors to elevate the wine, the palate craves another bite, followed by another sip.

More About Pair with Chef Rachel
Rachel moved to Paso Robles in 2017, since moving to wine country she began to explore with food and wine. Working in tasting rooms, she realized she would talk about food and pairings more than the wine. Rachel knew she wanted to see where her culinary passion would take her. She worked as executive chef at a local winery for a year and moved on to start her business, Pair With as a private chef and food and wine pairing instructor.
Pair With has had Rachel cooking for 400 person charity events, to 80 person winemaker dinners, to intimate private dinners in guests home, with all menus personalized to the wine, beer or spirits being served. She has also begun offering in home cooking classes, and winery staff trainings in pairing.
In addition, Rachel is Edible Magazine San Luis Obispo’s resident chef and recipe developer, and head of the popular Edible Test Kitchen
